Đề thi môn tiếng Anh thường nằm trong hành trang vào lớp 1 được ba mẹ tìm kiếm rất nhiều trong quá trình chuẩn bị cho con đăng ký vào các trường tư, đặc biệt là trường có hệ Cambridge, Oxford, lớp chọn Anh…như Nguyễn Siêu, Vinschool, Ngôi Sao Hà Nội (NSHN), Archimedes, Newton, Đoàn Thị Điểm, Marie Curie…
Hành trang đề thi vào lớp 1 môn tiếng Anh thường sẽ được các trường thiết kế để kiểm tra đồng thời các khả năng nghe – nói – tương tác xã hội (và có thể cả đọc) của trẻ thông qua các hoạt động đa dạng, phù hợp với lứa tuổi như xem tranh/ video trả lời câu hỏi, vẽ tranh, đọc số, đọc chữ cái, chơi trò chơi tương tác với thầy cô/ giữa 2 bạn hoặc một nhóm bạn…
Cũng chính vì sự phong phú, linh hoạt này, việc tìm đề thi vào lớp 1 cho môn tiếng Anh là không cần thiết; cách chuẩn bị tốt nhất là ba mẹ cho con tiếp xúc với tiếng Anh từ sớm (3-4 tuổi), và cho trẻ làm quen, nắm bắt được các chủ điểm quen thuộc đối với cấp độ 5-6 tuổi trước kỳ tuyển sinh.
1. Cách chuẩn bị nền tảng tiếng Anh trong hành trang vào lớp 1
Trước khi đi sâu vào 20 chủ điểm tiếng Anh thường gặp trong đề thi vào lớp 1 của các trường, ba mẹ nên chuẩn bị cho con nền tảng kỹ năng bao gồm:
Kỹ năng nói/ phát âm:
- Nhận diện, phân biệt, gọi tên, phát âm được các âm trong bảng chữ cái (A-Z)
- Biết cách đọc các âm đơn, nhận biết và đọc được các âm đó trong từ đơn
- Phát âm chính xác và tự nhiên các từ, cụm từ đơn giản thuộc các chủ đề quen thuộc.
Kĩ năng nghe trong đề thi, hành trang vào lớp 1:
- Nhận biết các từ đơn giản được đánh vần với tốc độ chậm và rõ ràng
- Hiểu những mệnh lệnh ngắn, câu hỏi đơn giản
Kĩ năng giao tiếp/ tương tác:
- Biết sử dụng từ và cấu trúc câu cơ bản để giới thiệu, trả lời những câu hỏi đơn giản về bản thân, hoặc làm theo hiệu lệnh.
- Biết mô tả người, vị trí, địa điểm, đồ vật, hành động, sự kiện quen thuộc
- Có thể yêu cầu sự giúp đỡ (bằng lời nói và cử chỉ)

Lưu ý: Nếu chỉ học và ôn chay các từ khoá trong 20 chủ điểm này thì sẽ rất khó nhớ, và không tạo ứng thú, nên ba mẹ có thể kiểm cho con bộ từ điển bằng tranh được minh hoạ rất đẹp theo các chủ đề, dễ nhớ, dễ dùng. 3. Các loại câu hỏi, hoạt động thường gặp trong đề thi vào lớp 1
Để chuẩn bị tốt. hành trang đề thi vào lớp 1 môn tiếng Anh của bé cần nắm được các hoạt động, hội thoại quen thuộc như:
Hội thoại:
- Giới thiệu về bản thân con: tên, tuổi, gia đình có bao nhiêu thành viên (gồm những ai), bạn bè
- Sở thích: màu sắc, đồ chơi, món ăn, vật nuôi, hoạt động vui chơi giải trí…
Làm theo mệnh lệnh:
- Thầy/ cô sẽ đưa ra một số câu mệnh lệnh đơn giản để con thực hiện, VD: “Put your hand on your head”, “Touch your foot/nose/arm”, “Give me a pencil”…
- Nhắc lại theo câu mà thầy/cô đã nói
Nhìn tranh trả lời trong đề thi vào lớp 1:
- Các câu đơn giản: Nêu tên hình, màu sác, đồ chơi, con vật, đồ vật, chữ cái, số…trong một bức tranh
- Phức tạp hơn, đề thi vào lớp 1 tiếng Anh có thể yêu cầu trẻ quan sát một bức tranh đầy đủ và trả lời một vài câu hỏi liên quan đến nội dung trong tranh. Phần này trẻ có khả năng trả lời một câu đầy đủ (full sentence) sẽ được đánh giá cao hơn trẻ chỉ trả lời bằng một từ đơn. VD: “How many boys do you see in the park? – I see three boys”, “Where is the cat? – The cat is on the table”…
Tương tác với một bạn hoặc một nhóm bạn:
- Ở một số trường, các con con được tạo điều kiện thể hiện khả năng tương tác và ngôn ngữ một cách tự nhiên nhất thông qua chơi trò chơi với các bạn khác theo hướng dẫn của thầy/cô.
Toán và đọc bằng tiếng Anh:
- Một số ít trường trong đề thi vào lớp 1 còn có thể kiểm tra con có khả năng cộng trừ đơn giản (dưới 5, dưới 10) bằng tiếng Anh, VD: 1 + 3 = 4 (One plus three equals four)
- Đọc từ đơn, tìm chữ cái còn thiếu trong một từ đơn, VD: Tranh có hình con mèo và chữ C_T
